Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Discuss Dangers of Being Struck on The Job Site

Workers on construction sites face countless hazards on a daily basis that could leave them seriously injured. The Philadelphia Workers Compensation Lawyers with Lundy Law explain one of the greatest dangers they face is the risk of being struck by objects or equipment on the job site. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that in 2012, this type of accident was responsible for causing roughly 15 percent of all workplace fatalities.

Recently, a contractor was left seriously injured after being struck by rubble and debris falling form a collapsing roof. According to an article from NBC-Philadelphia News, the incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. this morning at a construction site located at Heritage Center Drive in Furlong, Pennsylvania.

Reports indicate the victim was performing his job duties when the roof of the structure he was in suddenly began to collapse on top of him. It took more than an hour for rescue crews to pull the worker to safety as he drifted in an out of consciousness. He was then transported to a local trauma center for further treatment.

Lundy Law and their team of Philadelphia Personal Injury Lawyers are aware of how difficult recovering from an injury sustained while on the job can be. That is why the firm urges anyone who has been harmed in such an accident to discuss their legal options with a qualified attorney immediately.
