Under-budgeting in nursing homes has left several out in the cold on Pennsylvania workers’ compensation benefits, according to The Morning Call. For several years, Schuylkill County’s nursing home has underfunded workers’ compensation benefits, putting a strain on other departments’ contributions to fill the void.
Just $256,000 was budgeted by the county administrator’s office for Pennsylvania workers’ compensation in the coming year. More than $500,000 has been paid this year with three months to go and more cases pending.
