Slip and Fall Accident Results In Worker Injury

September 5, 2013

The Philadelphia Slip and Fall Accident Lawyers with Lundy Law explain that some of the leading causes of on-the-job accidents is slips, trips, and falls. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that a total of 668 workers lost their lives as a result of these incidents last year alone.

More recently, an employee at a candy manufacturing plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was seriously injured as the result of a fall at the workplace. According to an article from Lehigh Valley Live, the accident occurred just before 10:45 a.m. yesterday morning at the Just Born, Inc. facility located on Stefko Boulevard.

Reports indicate the worker was performing normal duties when she slipped and fell onto a conveyor belt at the facility. The fall caused the worker to suffer a serious injury to her leg that required rescue crews to transport her via ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.

Both the company and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident to determine its cause and if the incident could have been prevented.

Lundy Law’s team of Philadelphia Personal Injury Lawyers recognizes the devastating impact an on-the-job injury can have on the lives of workers and their families; however, the firm states that employers have a responsibility to protect the safety and health of their workers. They urge anyone who has been injured on-the-job through no fault of their own to discuss their legal options with a reputable attorney immediately.
