Product Recall: Hannover Direct Window Blinds Cause Child’s Death

 

According to an article inBloomberg News (11/10), “Hanover Direct Inc. of Weehawken, New Jersey, is recalling 523,500 window blinds after a child was strangled by a pull-cord. The recall was originally reported by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The recall covers Roman shades and roll-up blinds sold by Hanover through its Domestications, Company Store and Company Kids brands.Apparently, this isn’t the first time that this company has been cited. The Associated Press (11/10) reported,  that the recall is an expansion of a previous recall from October 2009 of about 90,000 roman shades.
Parents, if you have purchased any of these roll-up blinds, please return them immediately to avoid a potentially deadly hazard to your child.
