Carfax study finds many cars for sale part of recall efforts

The Dayton (OH) Daily News (6/4, Frolik) reported a recent Carfax study found that roughly “2.7 million used vehicles across the country that were placed for sale on the Internet in 2011 had open recalls.” According to the article, “Many sellers do not divulge that their vehicles require repairs, and many buyers do not know their purchases have defects.” The article mentioned that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website contains information on recalls.
