Television Host Marc Summers Seriously Injured In Philadelphia Car Crash

August 23, 2012

Television host Marc Summers was seriously injured this past week after being involved in a car accident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the accident occurred Friday afternoon after the host finished shooting a new episode of his current show, Restaurant Impossible.

Summers had just hopped into a cab outside of his studios to head home when the driver of the vehicle lost control due to wet conditions caused by heavy rains and began to hydroplane. The vehicle crashed into a wall and Summers’s face slammed against the glass partition separating the front and back halves of the cab, shattering numerous bones.

Mr. Summers was rushed to a local hospital following the Pennsylvania car accident and later explained, “Everything on the left side, from my eye socket down was just wiped out. I’m having trouble seeing completely out of the left eye… There’s lots of titanium and screws in my face.” He later added, “I was pretty lucky that I didn’t have brain damage.” Surgeons worked for roughly four hours to repair the damage that was inflicted on the victim.

Once the swelling goes down, he says doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

The Pennsylvania personal injury lawyers with Lundy Law understand just how detrimental an accident that results in serious injuries, such as those Mr. Summers suffered, can be and would like to wish the victim a full and speedy recovery.
