Dozens Injured In Pennsylvania Collision Between Bus and Tractor-Trailer

October 10, 2013

The force of the impact in a collision involving commercial tractor-trailers or passenger buses can be extremely devastating due to the size and weight of the vehicle. The Philadelphia Truck Accident Lawyers with Lundy Law explain the heavy damages of such a collision were reported yesterday when a charter bus crashed into the rear end of a tractor-trailer along the highway in Pennsylvania.

According to an article from NBC-Philadelphia News, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. yesterday morning in the lanes heading west along Interstate-80 outside of White Deer Township in Union County. Reports indicate the 36-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer stated his vehicle was struck from behind by a bus carrying a total of 50 passengers.

Rescue crews were called to the scene and transported 38 passengers to a local hospital for further treatment and examination. One woman died as a result of the collision, while four others, including the driver of the bus, were last listed as being in critical condition. The others were treated and released from the trauma center.

Several investigations into the accident have been launched by different agencies and organizations.

Lundy Law’s team of Philadelphia Personal Injury Lawyers points out the information gathered during these investigations will be used to determine fault and liability in the crash. That is why the firm says it is so important to have a lawyer on your side if you have been injured in a crash caused by another person’s negligence.
