Steven Chung
Steven Chung is a graduate of Penn State University and Widener University School of Law. While at Widener, Mr. Chung was a member of the Law Review and also was a member of its administrative board. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Florida. He also is admitted to practice before the Third Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.
After serving as staff counsel to a United States representative, Mr. Chung went on to become an assistant district attorney in Berks County, Pennsylvania. As an assistant district attorney, Mr. Chung had the opportunity to conduct approximately 50 jury and bench trials; he obtained favorable verdicts. Mr. Chung also tried one of the commonwealth’s first cases under Pennsylvania’s Anti-Stalking Law.
After serving as an assistant district attorney, Mr. Chung decided to use his trial experience for cases involving personal injury. He has successfully handled death and serious personal injury cases involving automobiles and tractor trailers, injuries caused by toxic products, pipeline explosion cases, slip and fall cases involving commercial business, and cases against insurance companies.
Mr. Chung obtained an extremely large settlement for an electrician who suffered serious head injuries when he was knocked out of the bucket of a lift-truck. He also obtained a confidential settlement for a patient who was physically assaulted at a Center City hospital. In addition, Mr. Chung litigated a serious medical malpractice case involving a newborn baby, which resulted in a significant settlement. Mr. Chung also was involved in the Tropicana garage collapse litigation in Atlantic City, N.J. which resulted in the deaths of four construction workers and serious injuries to more than 20 other workers.
Mr. Chung has been twice selected as a Pennsylvania Rising Star, Super Lawyers (2006 & 2007). He serves as a Judge Pro Tem and as an arbitrator for the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County, and is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Philadelphia Association for Justice. He also serves as a board member for the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
